RESULTS OF THE DEFENDERS FUND RAISER

About 200 dedicated people listened and watched images at a very special evening of bird, animal, and landscape photography with world renowned experts Tom Vezo and Jack Dykinga and commentary by Kenn Kaufman, the noted birding authority. The program was followed by an auction and raffle that raised over $7,000 for the Defenders. Altogether with the tickets sold at the forum and by committee members, the event will gross almost $10,000 to be used to fight the development at the base of Madera Canyon.

We thank all those who attended and those who donated art work, meals, gift certificates, overnight stays, and other items to the auction and raffle, and especially the programs by Tom Vezo, Jack Dykinga, and Kenn Kaufman who flew in from Ohio at his own expense to share his thoughts on saving this unique stretch of desert grassland.
