Public update on activities to save the
grasslands
On
Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the Green
Valley Community Church in Green Valley, the Defenders of Madera Canyon committee gave an update of progress to date of their activities to try to prevent development in the grasslands. A 17-page illustrated summary was given to each of the around 125 attendees and power point presentations were given by Luis Calvo - overview, Doug Moore - plant and animal life, Dan Brocious - impact of light pollution on the Whipple Observatory, Tom Purdon - what the public can do, and Tom Vezo - announcement of the Fund
Raiser event to be held in Tucson on March 30. The next event will be the Pima County Design Review Committee meeting on March 15 to consider the cluster design proposal.
