Madera Canyon IMBD Activities Schedule

Sign-up required to participate in morning bird walks *
Walk sign-ups open Sunday, April 20 (NO sign-ups will be taken before this date!)

7:00 AM, Proctor Nature Loop Birding * sign-up required

Limit: 10; Cost: free; Meet at Proctor Trailhead; Proctor Parking Area
Description: Birding the Proctor Loop Trail in search of migrant & early breeding species. Approx. 1 mile roundtrip; easy hiking with some elevation gain on paved accessible trail & improved dirt path on short detour up Nature Trail. Participants must be able to walk & stand for approximately 2-3 hrs. Bring water, binoculars, comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat & trail snacks. Optional: hand-held camera (no tripods) & walking stick

Description: Birding up the lower Carrie Nation Trail for resident, migrant & early breeding birds. Approximately 2 miles roundtrip; moderate hiking on uneven ground w/ elevation gain & rocky stream crossings; participants must be able to hike & stand for approximately 2-3 hour hike. Bring water, binoculars, comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat & trail snacks. Optional: hand-held camera (no tripods) & walking stick.

Description: Free hourly walks birding & nature viewing on White House Nature Loop Trail looking for resident, migrant & early breeding birds & canyon nature. Approx. ¾ mile roundtrip; easy hiking with some elevation loss on paved accessible trail with short detour with stairs down to stream bridge. Bring water, binoculars, comfortable hiking shoes, sunscreen, hat & trail snacks. Optional: hand-held camera (no tripods) & walking stick

Santa Rita Lodge: Birding, kid’s birding activities, TAS and AZ birding information & merchandise table with TAS volunteers at the Santa Rita Lodge hummingbird & bird feeders. Madera Canyon & nature gifts, beverages, snacks & food at Santa Rita Lodge giftshop.
