2007 madera canyon scholar
Meet RaeAnn Redford

RaeAnn graduated from high school in May 2007 and entered the University of Arizona this fall. She plans to specialize in botanical biochemistry and DNA analysis as she progresses up the academic ladder. She wrote the following letter to the Friends in August.
Dear Friends of Madera Canyon,
I would like to thank you again for your scholarship and to update you on my progress. I’m enrolled in several classes and I’ve met my professors at the University of Arizona. School has not started yet, but I've already toured the labs and met with
professors and other students. I've told some of my professors my desire and plans to
research DNA expression in plants that can possibly lead overseas in the future, and they are more than willing to help. I'm very excited to begin my degree of biochemistry and molecular biology, and I hope this degree will lead me back into the canyon that I've grown to love.
Your scholarship specifically pays for my food and a chemistry book. Thank you for helping me further my education. I’m proud to be part of the Friends of Madera Canyon family. And I will keep in touch.
Sincerely,
RaeAnn Redford
